VINParts Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026
VINParts is a vehicle lookup and parts-search tool. It is not a parts seller, repair shop, or final fitment authority.
Information we process
- VINs and decoded vehicle information. When a user looks up a VIN, VINParts sends the VIN to NHTSA’s public vehicle-decoder service to identify the vehicle.
- VIN photos. In the current app version, VIN photos remain on the user’s device during the current app session. VINParts does not upload VIN photos for OCR and does not sell VIN photos.
- Account email address. If a user creates an account, the email address is used for authentication through Supabase.
- Secure session. Sign-in session information is stored securely on the user’s device.
External services
When a user selects Search Parts Online or Find Parts Stores Near Me, VINParts opens Google or Google Maps. Those services have their own privacy terms. VINParts sends vehicle information and the selected part category in its parts-search query, not the complete VIN.
What VINParts does not collect or do
VINParts does not access DMV owner records, driver-license information, license-plate records, or vehicle-owner identity. It does not scrape retailer websites or claim retailer inventory, pricing, or approval.
Fitment and purchasing
VINParts does not guarantee final part compatibility, price, availability, installation requirements, or seller information. Users must confirm final fitment with the seller or a qualified mechanic before purchase or installation.
Account deletion
Account users can initiate permanent account deletion from the Account screen in the app. Deleting an account removes the authentication account and associated app data that VINParts controls.
